5 DIY Bath Products You NEED To Try!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Lush, Bath and Body Works, and The Body Shop all have many amazing products that make the bathroom fun, but this fun comes with a cost. So, instead of buying all their products, why not make our own?!

I have discovered 5 DIY's that are almost exactly like the products from these stores, and they all use materials that you probably have around your house!

You know how I said I would mention blogs I like, well MeasuringMarigolds is a great one! It will teach you new things, and, you will see the latest gift guide up there!!  You can visit it by going to

1) Flubber Soap

This one is almost exactly like slime! When you break off a piece and put it under the water, it will dissolve into bubbles!

You will need:

-   3 Tablespoons of any Cooking Oil
-  1/2 cup Cornstarch
-  1/4 cup Liquid Hand Soap/Body Wash

First, pour your cornstarch into a bowl with the cooking oil of choice and soap. You can add food coloring for a more potent color, but this is not required. Then, mix the mixture till it gets a soft, play-do like consistency. Once like this, you can take your flubber out and play with it. To try it, break off a piece and lather it under the water on your hands!

2) Bubble Bars (Or Solid Bubble Bath)

These bubble bars are amazing! They break off into instant bubbly fun!!

You will need:
Dry
- 1 Cup Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Cream of Tartar
- 1/4 Cup Corn Starch
- 1 Cup SLSA, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (Note, it is important to get SLSA instead of SLS)
Wet
-  1/2 Cup Liquid Glycerin
- Essential Oil
- 1/8 Cup Castor Oil (Other oils like olive work fine too)
- Food Coloring

First, combine all the dry ingredients till completely distributed. Wear mask over mouth if sensitive to cloudy material. Mix in all the wet ingredients excluding the coloring. Once this mixture comes together, continue with hands. Once smooth and dough-like, you can separate the mix into several bowls and color them with the food coloring. Knead the food colorant in. Roll these separate colored mixtures together for a marble look, and cut with cookie cutters. Leave to dry overnight, and when solid, break off into bath for an instant bubble explosion!

3) Soap

An oldy but a goody, soap bars are used to keep the cleanliness of our hands, and we can easily DIY these guys!

You will need:

- Glycerin Soap
- Silicone Mold (Any Shape)
- Optional Food Coloring, Scent, or oil

Simply cut the desired amount of soap glycerin blocks and melt for one minute in the microwave. Once melted, add your food coloring, scent, and oil. When done mixing and adding, pour into the silicone mold and freeze or let dry overnight. You are done! These make great gifts and work as well as storebought!!

4) Bath Jellies

These are squishy and so much fun for bathtime! I guarantee that this is a crowd pleaser and many people will ask where you got it!

You will need:
- 2 Packs of Gelatin
- Silicone Molds
- 4 blocks Glycerin or Clear Soap Liquid
- Essential Oils
- Food Coloring
- 3/4 cup of Water

Put 3/4 cups of water into a microwave safe bowl and once heated, mix in 4 melted cubes of glycerin soap. Once these are stirred together, quickly add 2 packs of gelatin and mix. You can add your oils at this point. You can add food coloring and then pour into a silicone mold. Freeze overnight and you're done! These are amazing and they are soooo cute!

5) Another DIY Bath Bomb

I am in LOOOVEE with Bath Bombs! They make bathtime so much fun and there are so many ways to make them. This recipe is extra fizzy for a bath you will enjoy!

You will need:

- 1/2 cup Baking Soda

- 1/4 cup Corn Starch
- 1/4 cup of Epsom Salt or Sea Salt
- 3 Teaspoons of any kitchen oil
- Essential Oil of choice
- 1 Tablespoon of water
- Food Coloring
- Mold

Mix all the ingredients together and once nice and packed together, press into mold. Freeze or let dry overnight. These ones are amazing, and be sure to check out my other bath bomb recipe!!
